Unvarnished truths - flaws or individuality?

Stretch marks, fat bellies, braces, big ears, pigmentation spots, pimples.... All kinds of small and large deviations from the common ideal of beauty. Do we see a flaw or that certain "something"? Whether beautiful or not, that is entirely in the eye of the beholder - and often in the self-evident way with which the unvarnished truth is self-confidently displayed.
